Chen Jin'an works in the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital. In 1995, he founded the Laser Aesthetic Department at Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital—the first of its kind in China. He is Executive Vice President of the Laser Aesthetics Branch of the Chinese Association of Plastic and Aesthetics. Specialties: laser and facial rejuvenation, and removal of unknown injectable fillers. Rather than “China's No. 1 Laser Expert,” I prefer “Pioneer of Laser Aesthetics in China.”

Biography

Chen Jin'an, Associate Chief Physician and Associate Professor, works in the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital. He has visited the United States, Japan, Spain, South Korea, and Taiwan for observation, study, and training, and has repeatedly served as a special guest on television and radio programs and on "Famous Doctors Consultation," as well as a speaker in special columns on plastic and aesthetic surgery. Specialties: laser aesthetics, injectable aesthetics, and primarily plastic and aesthetic surgery of the eyes, ears, nose, and maxillofacial region. His philosophy of plastic and aesthetic practice: "Your desire for beauty is also my pursuit."

Professional Experience: He graduated from Shanghai Second Medical College (now Shanghai Second Medical University) in 1972. Since graduation, he has worked continuously in the Department of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery—Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery at Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital, carrying out maxillofacial plastic and aesthetic surgery. At the Ninth People's Hospital, he was among the earlier physicians to engage in plastic and aesthetic surgery of the nose, ears, head and neck, and maxillofacial region. In plastic and aesthetic procedures such as combined internal and external correction of nasal deformities and reconstruction of congenital and acquired total and partial ear defects, he has reformed and innovated many surgical methods and published multiple papers.

In 1995, he founded the Laser Aesthetic Treatment Center. The center's strong technical capabilities have achieved miraculous therapeutic effects in certain skin diseases. After 20 years of effort, satisfactory results have been achieved in the clinical treatment of hundreds of thousands of patients. The Department of Laser Aesthetic Medicine at Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital enjoys a high reputation both in China and abroad and has become a famous brand in China. He has accumulated rich clinical experience in the treatment of pigmented lesions, vascular lesions, scars, and other conditions. He was the first person in China to perform laser hair removal and has also conducted in-depth research on injectable aesthetics, particularly possessing unique management approaches for adverse outcomes of injectable aesthetic procedures. It has become a clinical education base for multiple laser manufacturers and distributors; in terms of scale, equipment, and technical strength, it is first-class and in a leading position nationwide. National-level continuing medical education courses are held annually and are well received by a wide range of trainees.
